MongoDB, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDB) launched **Atlas Agent Engine** on September 29, 2026, at its Investor Day at the Nasdaq MarketSite in New York City.

Atlas Agent Engine is a unified platform built on MongoDB Atlas designed to help enterprises move AI agents from proof-of-concept to production. It combines four key capabilities into a single layer:

1. **Execution** — runtime environment for deploying production AI agents.
2. **Memory** — persistent agent memory built into the platform using **Voyage AI embeddings** and MongoDB’s native retrieval, allowing agents to improve accuracy while consuming fewer tokens.
3. **Retrieval** — accurate, model-agnostic retrieval with embeddings and reranking on top of real-time operational data in Atlas.
4. **Governance** — enterprise-grade security, governance, and cost controls.

The platform aims to eliminate the need for engineering teams to stitch together separate tools for memory, retrieval, and governance, while also avoiding vendor and cloud lock-in. MongoDB notes support for interoperability standards such as **MCP** and **A2A**.

Atlas Agent Engine entered **public preview** and is intended for engineering teams deploying production-ready AI agents on their existing Atlas infrastructure without requiring a new stack.
