Macrohard 聯合開發是這篇文章討論的核心
Elon Musk has unveiled a bold new initiative called “Macrohard” (also referred to as “Digital Optimus”), a joint project between Tesla and his artificial intelligence startup xAI. The announcement was made on Wednesday via a post on X, where Musk described it as a system designed to automate tasks for software companies. This project is the first development under Tesla’s investment agreement with xAI, signaling a major strategic alignment between the two companies.

The primary goal of Macrohard is to leverage advanced AI to streamline and disrupt the traditional software development process. By integrating Tesla’s engineering expertise with xAI’s cutting-edge models, the project aims to deliver tools that can handle complex coding, debugging, and deployment tasks autonomously. Musk hinted that this could fundamentally change how software is built, making development faster and more efficient.

In parallel, xAI has been making headlines for its rapid growth. The company recently raised $10 billion in a mix of debt and equity funding, pushing its valuation close to $1 trillion yuan (approximately $140 billion). The funding round closed on July 1, 2025, and is seen as a direct challenge to AI giants like OpenAI and Google DeepMind. xAI also aims to achieve profitability by 2027, despite high operational costs.

The Macrohard project is not the only big move for xAI. In March 2025, SpaceX acquired the AI startup, rebranding it as SpaceXAI. However, Musk later admitted that xAI “wasn’t built right” and has been rebuilding the company from the ground up, leading to some co-founder exits. The acquisition and subsequent restructuring highlight Musk’s commitment to integrating AI across his ventures.

Musk’s vision for AI has always been ambitious. From his early warnings about AI risks to his founding of xAI to “understand the true nature of the universe,” he continues to push boundaries. The Macrohard project represents a concrete step toward applying AI in practical, transformative ways. As Tesla and xAI combine forces, the tech world watches closely to see if Macrohard can live up to its disruptive promise.
